Trivia
- The name «Zeke» is likely a shortened form of his real name, «Ozychlyrus». His name «Sîvrit» in the Japanese version is the Middle High German form of «Siegfried».
- During his «special» attack in cutscenes, the kanji 極 (kyoku, ultimate) appears on the ground.
- One of Zeke’s lines during battle is «I’m really feeling it!», a line also said by Shulk in Xenoblade Chronicles.
- Zeke says his eyepatch «conceals a power too great for mere mortals to comprehend… The Eye of Shining Justice!» However, this claim is undermined by Pandoria’s backhanded support, «He definitely isn’t wearing it because he didn’t have the gold for a second contact lens.»
- Zeke’s Japanese voice lines seem to reflect an accent indicitive of the Kansai region of Japan.
- Zeke’s act as the Bringer of Chaos is a take on the common concept of Chunibyo.

Appearance
Nim is a pale half-woman half-fox, with overall human stature but large white paws, a long white tail, small teal ears and a canine nose. She has teal green hair and eyelashes, and her legs merge into igneous rock structures instead of feet. She wears a dark rock-like brasserie and skirt edging, with a green leaf-like half-skirt. White fur covers her waist and grows over her shoulders like a waistcoat. Blue ether lines, red lava lines and rock-like scales appear on her bare skin. She has hazel brown eyes, a blue ether glyph on her forehead, and her core crystal also resembles a glyph.
Her companions Kit and Sunny are both slim white fox-like creatures that either sit on or stem from Nim’s shoulders. They have long thin eyes, small clawed arms and flaming manes — one blue and one orange — that match the colours of their eyes. Kit and Sunny do not speak except silently to Nim.
Appearance
At 1.68 m (5’6″ inches) Sharla is a fairly tall woman, with tan skin, long black hair reaching just past her shoulders, soft brown eyes, and a beauty mark on the lower left of her lip.
Her standard outfit consists of a blue crop top with short rippled sleeves and four square golden button-like jewels in front, an orangish red waistcoat with three rifle bullets in the pockets, a pair of silver goggles with dark brown straps, white shorts, a grey belt, brown elbow-length gloves with dark brown straps and silver buckles, and a pair of dark brown knee-high boots with blackish brown soles, silver buckles on the straps, and blue stockings pulled over the top of them.
Heart-to-heart and Blade Quest
Zenobia’s Heart-to-heart, «Stronger than Light», takes place in the Womb Hollow in the Land of Morytha between Zenobia, her driver, and Mythra. Zenobia expresses a desire to fight Mythra as, as the Aegis, she is one of the strongest possible opponents.
Zenobia during her Blade Quest
Zenobia’s Blade Quest, A Real Challenge, is initiated upon accepting the Merc Mission «We Need To Talk!«. Zenobia calls the party for a meeting in Argentum in which she expresses frustration at not being sent to fight enough dangerous foes, to which Mythra suggests that they release an ancient sealed monster for Zenobia to fight. Upon researching this monster and unlocking the four seals that restrain it, the party awaken the Thanatobeast Andraz and fight it. Discovering that it cannot be killed due to an incredibly fast recovery rate, Zenobia smacks it hard enough that it is sent flying far in the distance, perhaps never to return.
Story
Juju’s abduction
Xord appears at Spiral Valley
Initially, Shulk has a premonition about Juju being captured by Xord, however he mistakes him for Metal Face. After tracking down the tentacled Mechon M71 and defeating it, Xord appears as Mysterious Face, unimpressed with the child who Metal Face described as «a beast». He then attacks, and easily defeats Shulk and the others. Just as his victory seems certain, he abducts Juju and flies away for reasons unknown (although they seem to have something to do with his power lines shifting from red to blue, which cause him a significant amount of barely-concealed distress). As he flees he taunts the party to face him at Colony 6 if they want to rescue Juju.
Rescuing Juju
Otharon prepares to shoot Xord
Xord does not reappear until the party reaches the bottom-most level of the Central Pit in the Ether Mine, beneath Colony 6. It is here he reveals that he devoured all of the Defence Force during the attack on Colony 6. He then announces himself as Xord (until this point, he was simply referred to as having a Bronze Mask)—when Shulk and the others react to this as though it is unusual, Xord mentions he cannot remember «it» very well. The fight begins with Xord taunting «Monado Boy» with «That won’t dent me! I’m not Metal Face!»
After a fierce battle, Xord is not giving an inch. Suddenly, he is caught off-guard by Otharon, who is piloting a Mobile Artillery. Otharon manages to push Xord into the river of Ether beneath them. Just as it seems that Xord and Otharon are going to end up dying together, Shulk and Reyn save Otharon. Xord falls into the ether river and seemingly dies.
Not quite dead
Xord reappears
As the team is leaving on the Freight Elevator, it stops halfway up the shaft. An enraged and critically damaged Xord appears! Shulk and the others fight Xord again for the last time. His heavily corroded armour lacks protection from the Monado, making him easier to take down.
After the desperate struggle, a limping and very desperate Xord winds up one more attack towards Shulk. Before Xord can attack, however, Sharla shoots down Xord’s limbs, with the Faced Mechon falling onto his back, near the edge of the still-immobile lift. He tells Shulk that he was surprised that he could defeat him even without the Monado’s «true power». He refuses Shulk’s demands for more information.
His final words mention that when he «became like this» his eyes were opened. Before Shulk can question him further, Xord restarts his engine, blasting off the edge and falling down into the shaft. The elevator continues up as he explodes, causing the collapse of the entire Central Pit.
Mass-Produced Faces
After this, Metal Face reappears and starts taunting the group. It seems the Faced Mechon are in Mass Production as there are now multiple Xords and are ready to fight. A mysterious winged creature (a Telethia), however, flies down, destroying several Mechon and sending Metal Face running, along with the remaining Mechon.

In battle, with Pandoria and at max affinity, the player can press while holding to activate the skill, during which blue flames ignite on Zeke’s eyepatch. Zeke gains several buffs, including much faster art animations, immunity to all debuffs (Topple, Blowdown, etc.), movement speed faster than when at normal max affinity, and a very large damage multiplier. However, the effect is only temporary, can only be activated once per battle, and instantly inflicts Blowdown on Zeke once it ends.
Chapter 11: Consequences
Since all the choices for the chapter openings have been chosen at this point, Cross is given different choices for the chapter opening. Regardless, Lin ends up putting Tatsu in a pot while putting salt into the water. Suddenly, the four are summoned to the Skell warehouse, with the only information supplied being that Lao is there.
Vandham and a BLADE team confront Lao. After Elma, Cross, Lin, Tatsu, Doug, Irina, and Gwin arrive, Lao reveals that he stole a data terminal with important intel and that he is the Ganglion spy. He then steals the Prog Ares, with the intent of giving it to the Ganglion.
Vandham then reports that the Lifehold Core can be located using all collected data, which excites Lin and Tatsu. However, Lao stole the data terminal necessary to find the Lifehold Core, prompting the party to travel to the Ganglion base in Cauldros to confront him. Meanwhile, BLADE Tower now shows 5%.
Lao explains how only certain people are chosen
Upon arriving at the Ganglion base, Elma checks for signals and confirm that the Prog Ares is nearby. The party manages to infiltrate the Ganglion base, but a siren mobilizes all Ganglion lines of defense. The party makes its way to the heart of the base, where Lao awaits them. Lao reveals that his family was not chosen for emigration on the White Whale from Earth, and his resentment for the decision to only permit the rich, the connected, and the elite on the Ark Ship fueled his anger towards New Los Angeles, causing him to join the Ganglion’s objective of eliminating the humans. He then attacks using the Prog Ares.
The party ultimately manages to defeat Lao. Elma threatens to kill Lao for his betrayal, but Lin stands in her way, unwilling to let Lao die because of the relationship developed between the two, despite his wrongdoing. Cross ultimately sides with Lin, and their combined efforts convince Elma to stand down. Lao, realizing his wrongdoing, gives Lin the data terminal needed to find the Lifehold Core, then tells the party to leave him and return to New Los Angeles. As the party leaves, Lao expresses regret towards his actions. The party then reports to Vandham on Lao’s circumstances.
Personality
Sharla is a kind-hearted, strong-witted, and loving person. However, she has a vengeful side that is first seen when Xord reveals that he ate the entire Defence Force of Colony 6. She is also shown to be devoted to those she cares for especially Gadolt and her young brother Juju. She originally became a medic so she could protect Juju and heal him whenever he got hurt according to the Heart-to-Heart «Revisiting the Past». She also acts motherly especially in all Heart-to-Hearts with Dunban and she even adopts Melia like her own sister and encourages her feelings for Shulk. She intends to become a doctor once things have settled down, according to «The Colony Reborn».
When she finds out that Gadolt has been turned into Jade Face and cannot remember her because of Egil erasing his memories, she loses her will to fight but she becomes emotionally stronger when he gave up his life to save her at Agniratha. She remains determined to keep fighting until Zanza is taken down once and for all.
Story
Prior to the start of the story, Sharla and her younger brother Juju lived in Colony 6. Sharla was due to marry a member of Colony 6’s Defence Force, named Gadolt. Unfortunately, the Mechon attacked, led by Xord, and destroyed Colony 6. Sharla and Juju were tasked with helping the young and elderly flee the Colony.
It is at the Refugee Camp that Sharla meets Shulk and Reyn. She almost immediately takes a liking to Reyn but has trouble believing that Shulk can witness the future. When Juju runs away the three give chase, and Sharla reveals her specialty is healing. They eventually reach Juju, who has been captured by a Mechon M71, and defeat it. During this battle, Sharla realizes that Shulk’s visions are real.
Unfortunately for Sharla, their victory is short-lived as Xord appears and terrorizes the group. He kidnaps Juju, causing Sharla to faint from the ordeal for about four hours.
Upon recovering, Sharla leads the party through the Ether Mine, below Colony 6, and they find Xord. When she finds that Xord ate the entire Defence Force, she swears not to stop until she scraps every last Mechon around her. After the battle, she is asked to accompany Shulk on his journey. She also receives Gadolt’s Rifle from Otharon.
Xenoblade Chronicles X
In Xenoblade Chronicles X, there are nine Tyrants that are fought as Superbosses in the game. Although no Tyrant’s level exceeds level 99, these are characterized by either the use of a track other than «Uncontrollable» as their battle theme or an absence prior to completing Chapter 12, or both. In addition, all are well above the max level cap of 60.
Superbosses
- Gradivus, the Headless Emperor can be found at level 71 on the North Coast in Oblivia after completing Chapter 12. It is the only source of Reflect.ADD-PHYS and Reflect.ADD-THERM augments. It is the only enemy in the game to have more than 100 million HP.
- Dadaan, the Strongest Prone can be found at level 77 at Scabland Fortress next to FN Site 307 in Oblivia, accompanied by The Dadaan Girls, after completing Chapter 12. Dadaan has the ability to instantly destroy all Skells being piloted by the party if the player uses them during the battle for more than 10 seconds. He will also enter invincibility periods while summoning Dadaan Squad Members. Battles with Dadaan feature the track «CR17S19S8».
- Leva’el, the Terminus can be found at level 82 in the western Cauldros Waters after completing Chapter 12. It is the only source of Reflect.ADD-BEAM and Reflect.ADD-ELEC augments. Leva’el has the ability to initiate a countdown that, if not stopped, can inflict Instant Death on the party.
- Lugalbanda, the Wanderer-King can be found at level 88 at the Vitriol Cesspool in Noctilum after completing Chapter 12. This location is inaccessible to Skells, so Lugalbanda must be fought on foot. It can summon Stray Ovis for assistance by using an Art called «Lunchtime». Battles with Lugalbanda feature the track «CR17S19S8».
- Vortice, the Deific Blast can be found at level 94 above the caldera of Mount M’gando in Cauldros during brimstone rain weather. Vortice can be fought before Chapter 12, unlike most Superbosses. Battles with Vortice feature the track «CR17S19S8». It is the only Superboss that is the target of an eponymous Basic Mission.
- Nahum, the Red Hare and Nardacyon, the Shadowless can be found atop a flat-topped rock formation near Primordia’s Bedrock Hold after completing Chapter 12. They are level 66 and 96, respectively. It can be noted that although it is possible to defeat Nahum, the party is not intended to do so as she enters her Skell Nardacyon after she has less than 25% of her health remaining. Nahum does not have an entry in the Enemy Index, nor does she drop any items if defeated. Battles with Nahum and Nardacyon feature the track «CR17S19S8».
- Pharsis, the Everqueen can be found at level 97 hanging from the ceiling in the Noctilucent Sphere Interior in Sylvalum. It is the only source of Reflect.ADD-GRAV augments. It is the only Yggralith that can be fought outside of Squad Missions. Pharsis can be fought before Chapter 12, unlike most Superbosses. Battles with Pharsis feature the track «CR17S19S8».
- Telethia, the Endbringer can be found at level 99 above the Divine Roost in Noctilum. It has the highest level of any enemy in Xenoblade Chronicles X. It is the only source of Reflect.ADD-ETHER augments. Telethia, the Endbringer also has its own battle theme, that being the second section of «raTEoREkiSImeAra». The battle with Telethia, the Endbringer begins in the air, but it will descend onto the ground when it has less than 60% of its HP. It will later return to the sky if the battle lasts long enough. If it is in the middle of descending or ascending, it is immune to all attacks. During the third phase, Telethia is able to use Soul Read, which allows it to evade all attacks for a period of time. Telethia can be fought before Chapter 12, unlike most Superbosses. The connection between this Telethia and the ones in Xenoblade Chronicles is unknown.
Personality
Pyra is a kind-hearted, mild-mannered, soft spoken young woman who desires peace among both Blades and Drivers. Despite being gentle around people, she is not afraid to fight to protect those she cares about.
Pyra is usually seen to be very doubtful of her worth and considers herself to be a burden and a danger to others. Due to this, she originally wants to go to Elysium alongside Mythra to beg the Architect for their death, which they could normally not obtain due to their condition as Blades.
Pyra is also a very talented cook, and can easily produce delicious food, while Mythra is not good at cooking, despite enjoying doing so, people generally dislike the food she prepares and it angers her.

Chapter 1: New Los Angeles
As they enter the city, they see a broadcast of Maurice at BLADE Tower giving a briefing on the retrieval of the pods. Irina and Gwin then greet Elma, who subsequently introduces them to Cross. A dialogue follows, in which it is suggested that multiple pods were found in Starfall Basin, but Cross was the only survivor. Irina and Gwin then leave for an assignment.
Lin rushing to the crash site
Upon entering the Industrial District, Elma and Cross see a Skell flying. The Skell is seen to be emitting smoke, before crashing not far from Elma and Cross’s location. Immediately, a young girl, Lin, arrives and begins assessing the cause of the crash, as the pilot, Doug, emerges from the Skell in frustration. After assessing the Skell, Lin greets Elma and introduces herself to Cross. She then commands Doug to put the damaged Skell away and joins the party as they head for BLADE HQ, much to Doug’s annoyance.
Touring NLA
The party flies to the Administrative District. During the flight, Lin discusses the progress of New Los Angeles and points out the different districts of the city. Upon reaching just outside BLADE Barracks, the party is greeted by Nagi. The four enter the barracks, where Nagi explains BLADE and its purpose. It is revealed that BLADE is searching for the remaining Lifehold units scattered across the planet, which contain humans in them. Cross, Elma, and Lin then leave the barracks, and Elma and Lin give Cross a tour of the Administrative District.
The group then head back to the barracks where Nagi is staying. Once inside, Cross is formally recruited as a BLADE. Shortly after, Nagi introduces them to FrontierNav. They are then tasked with installing the data probe at the closest FN Site.
Chapter 7: Treachery
Elma asks about Irina’s whereabouts, and Vandham answers that her team has found a Lifehold in Oblivia. Elma, Lin, Cross, and Tatsu decide to go and help Irina, in the case of a Ganglion ambush. Meanwhile, BLADE Tower’s countdown has dropped to 27%.
Irina’s team, which includes Gwin and Marcus, finds a group of alien mechs close to the location of the Lifehold. Elma and the party arrive, and Elma tells Irina to guard the Lifehold while she takes care of the mechs. After defeating the mechs, the party returns to Irina, who is at the Lifehold with Marcus. Irina is about to open it, when Elma suddenly tells her to get away from it. Right as Irina jumps off the rocks, Ganglion mechs attack, setting fire to the Lifehold. The lead mech, Almandal, is revealed to be piloted by Goetia, whom the party battles. Elma then explains to a shocked Irina about the Ganglion and their motives. Irina, Gwin, and their team then return to NLA, with the party following soon afterwards to report to Vandham. By the end of this chapter, BLADE Tower’s countdown has reached 20%.
Story
The epilogue Future Connected sets one year after the main story. The world is at peace, the different known races are working together, and the restoration of the world is underway. Shulk suggests that Melia set out to find the capital of her people, the imperial city of Alcamoth. They are flying aboard the Machina’s Junks while they are attacked by a light ray coming from a mysterious black fog and crash into Bionis’ Shoulder, located near Alcamoth.
A strange phenomenon makes bits of land on the Bionis’ Shoulder rise in the air and float. Two Nopon named Kino and Nene join Shulk and Melia. Kino is a young Nopon who wants to become a hero like his adoptive father, Riki, but is afraid of strangers. Nene is Riki’s and Oka’s daughter and Kino’s adoptive sister, although she treats him like a son. They are both very strong fighters.
Despite having a new weapon that resembles the Monado, Shulk no longer has the ability to see the future as before, due to wielding the Replica Monado during the final battle against Zanza. A variety of enemies populate the Bionis’ Shoulder. However a new type of enemy, called Fogbeasts, are acting in the shadows and will give a hard time to the party. All over Bionis’ Shoulder, Nopon rangers named Ponspectors can help the party and even unlock their own signature attack.
