Sealy, Texas—Hennessey Performance (HPE) is building a limited run of
World’s Fastest Edition Venom GTs to celebrate the company’s recent top speed run of 270.4 mph, which was set at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in February. The World’s Fastest Edition (WFE) also alludes to the Venom’s 0-300 km/h Guinness World Record.

“The Venom GT is America’s supercar and it broke 270 mph on the same runway where the Space Shuttle landed at the Kennedy Space Center,” said company founder John Hennessey. “We wanted to offer a special paint scheme that would incorporate the colors of the American flag—the same flag we flew on the Space Shuttle runway. Thus, our special livery package includes a body in white with red and blue stripes.”

The Venom GT generates its incredible speed from a simple formula: huge power, minimal weight. Its 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 makes 1244 bhp and with only 2743 lb. to accelerate (that’s 1244 kg, hitting that magic 1 bhp/kg mark), the Venom GT is not only the fastest series-produced road car; it’s also the quickest. It holds the Guinness World Record for standing-start acceleration, rocketing from rest to 300 km/h (186 mph) in just 13.63 seconds. Lightweight aluminum construction, carbon-fiber bodywork and featherweight carbon-ceramic brakes all make this extraordinary power/weight ratio possible.

“We’re thrilled about what we achieved at Cape Canaveral with the Venom GT,” said Hennessy CEO Don Goldman, “and now the World’s Fastest Edition is a living, breathing celebration of that record achievement.”

Just three World’s Fastest Edition cars are being built and have already been sold at a price of $1.25 million U.S. This makes the Venom GT WFE not only the fastest but also one of the rarest supercars ever built.

Chassis Edit

The Venom GT uses a Lotus Exige chassis. The manufacturer, Hennessey Performance Engineering, claims the modified chassis uses components from the Lotus Exige, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, dashboard, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper and head lamps. Hennessey Performance and the Venom GT are not associated with Lotus Cars. For road use, the car is registered as a Lotus Exige (modified) and is not a series production car.

The Venom GT has a curb weight of 2,743 pounds (1,244 kg) aided by carbon fiberbodywork and carbon fiber wheels. The brakes use Brembo 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. The rotors are 15 inches (380 mm) carbon ceramic units provided by Surface Transforms.

Drivetrain Edit

The Venom GT is powered by a twin turbocharged 427 cu in (7.0 L) V8 GM LS7 engine with an iron block and aluminum heads including twin Precision dual ball bearing turbochargers. The engine produces 1,244 bhp (928 kW; 1,261 PS) of power at 6,600 rpm and 1,155 lb·ft (1,566 N·m) of torque at 4,400 rpm. Engine power output is adjustable by three settings: 800 bhp (597 kW; 811 PS), 1,000 bhp (746 kW; 1,014 PS) and 1,200 bhp (895 kW; 1,217 PS). The engine revs to 7,200 rpm.

The mid-engine V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission right out of a Ford GT .

A programmable traction control system manages power output. Computational fluid dynamics tested bodywork and downforce also help keep the Venom GT stable. Under varying conditions on both the road and racetrack, an active aero system with adjustable rear wing will deploy. An adjustable suspension system will allow ride height adjustments by 2.4 inches (61 mm) according to speed and driving conditions. Michelin PS2 tires will also help put power to the ground.

THE HENNESSEY EXORCIST TESTED TO 217 MPH

Hennessey’s 1000 HP Camaro ZL1 becomes the world’s fastest muscle car

Uvalde, TX-Move over 2019 Corvette ZR1 with your top speed of 213 mph. On February 12, 2018, professional driver and director of the Ford Performance Driving School, Brian Smith, drove THE EXORCIST, a 1,000 horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 built by Hennessey Performance (HPE) to a top speed of 217 mph. In the process, THE EXORCIST became the world’s fastest Gen6 Camaro.

The run was made on the 8.5-mile high-speed oval at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds located in Uvalde, TX. This is the same test track where the Hennessey team ran their HPE750 Supercharged Mustang to over 200 mph with Jay Leno’s Garage in 2015. During both tests, speeds were validated with Racelogic’s Video VBox GPS data logging system.

“We wanted to see if THE EXORCIST could exceed the top speed of the new ZR1 Corvette, which is 213 mph. Mission accomplished”, said president and company founder, John Hennessey. “This is just the first high-performance validation test for THE EXORCIST. We also plan to test our car’s 0-60 mph and ¼ mile performance at the dragstrip as well as handling and braking on a road course. Stay tuned.”

Not only is THE EXORCIST faster than the ZR1 Corvette, but it’s also faster than supercars like the McLaren 720S, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Lamborghini Huracan, and many more.

The team from Hennessey Performance (HPE) increased the factory’s supercharged LT4 V8 engine from 650 bhp to 1,000 bhp by the tried and true method of increasing airflow through the engine. The Hennessey-tuned ZL1 Camaro makes its power by upgrading the factory 1.7L supercharger to a new 2.9L supercharger system with a larger intercooler system plus CNC ported cylinder heads, camshaft and valvetrain upgrades, 1 7/8 inch long-tube stainless steel headers with high-flow catalytic converters, high-flow intake cold air induction system, engine management recalibration and chassis dyno tuning.

Hennessey utilized the factory wheels and tires on THE EXORCIST for this test but they do offer upgraded wheels and tires for the dragstrip and a road race wheel and tire package. The factory 10-speed transmission was also used and the 217 MPH speed was achieved in ninth gear.

To date, HPE has delivered 20 EXORCISTS to clients and the company plans to only build 100 units in total. Each EXORCIST has its own distinctive Hennessey serial number with a plaque in the interior and engine bay. THE EXORCIST can be ordered directly from Hennessey or from authorized Hennessey Chevrolet dealers. All EXORCISTS come with a two year/24,000 mile warranty.

Performance

While the Venom GT performs rather well in acceleration and handling, it suffers from poor nitro, along with subpar nitro efficiency, which can spell serious trouble if the Venom GT runs out of nitro while accelerating. This leaves the Venom GT at the mercy of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014, which has the same total speed with better overall stats.

Usage

The Hennessey Venom GT is similarly a poor choice for multiplayer with its lackluster performance. The Hennessey Venom GT will be put in races with the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition, Aston Martin Vulcan and Apollo Intensa Emozione, all of which it cannot compete against.

The Venom GT is required for completion of Season 6: Adrenaline of Career mode. The Venom GT is also one of the Enduro Cars used in the Enduro Double Down event for the Icona Vulcano V12 Hybrid, details of which can be found here.

The Hennessey Venom GT is part of the Collection which awards a total of 40 Tuning Kits when completed.

Price

The Hennessey Venom GT had an original buying price of  3,000,000 but has been reduced to  1,450,000. It was removed from the Garage in the 2019 Holiday Update for non-owners. As of the Fifteenth Anniversary Update, the Venom GT can again be purchased by all players for  5,000,000. As of the Wild Cards Update, it is no longer purchasable.

As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost  2,026,000 while Pro Kits require  674,400, 18 of each Class S Part, 32 Forced-Induction V8s, 36 Mid-Techs, and 24 Advanced Techs.

As of the 2019 Holiday Update, the Venom GT no longer has any Upgrades and has been replaced with ​the ​ status.

Shell and Pennzoil to Power and Protect Hennessey Special Vehicles Powerhouse

Pebble Beach – Shell and Pennzoil teamed up with Hennessey Special Vehicles to bring the Hennessey Venom F5 to The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, to unveil much sought-after engine details since its first industry introduction last fall.

“We think the engine details shared at The Quail are of major interest to all those who have been following the progress of the Venom F5,” said John Hennessey. “With a custom-built Hennessey 7.6 Liter Twin Turbo V8 engine capable of achieving more than 1600 bhp at 7,200 rpm (24 psi boost pressure) and Shell and Pennzoil powering and protecting this powerhouse, we’re feeling confident in our quest to set new records in 2019.”

In addition to the ample horsepower available to the Venom F5, the hypercar’s engine is a billet aluminum machined engine block with steel cylinder sleeves that will continue to push the envelope with 1,300 lb-ft torque @ 4,400 rpm, a 9.3:1 compression ratio, and features precision ball bearing twin turbos with billet compressor wheels, stainless steel turbo headers, and a dry sump oiling system.

For nearly five years, Shell and Pennzoil have been working with Hennessey founder and CEO, John Hennessey, to power and protect his coveted asphalt-eating power machines. More than two years ago, they joined up to co-engineer a vehicle that is on pace to re-write the industry record books: the Venom F5. This extreme hypercar has been designed and built with the goal of being the fastest car on earth.

“Our relationship with John and the Hennessey Special Vehicles team is mutually rewarding. Our products are tested to their performance limits in the new engine designed especially for Venom F5 and will help the Hennessey team to break more records. This extreme performance testbed allows Shell to progress our own innovations as we support this hypercar in its move to next level status,’’ said Carlos Maurer, president, Shell Lubricants Americas.

The Venom F5’s bespoke design and chassis will also help achieve even greater performance through improved aerodynamics and technology. Hennessey will rely on Pennzoil Platinum 10W-60 Full Synthetic motor oil and Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline to protect and power the Venom F5 across any finish line.

Out of the 24 vehicles that will be built, there have already been 15 confirmed orders.

Первые бутылки с маркировкой Hennessy нашли своих потребителей в 1765 году.

Преображенный Venom GT


Сочетание американской мощности 7-литрового твин-турбо двигателя V8 и передовых технологий английского шасси позволило гиперкару Venom GT стать самым быстрым и легкоуправляемым автомобилем.

Исходный кузов при разработке пришлось сделать немного шире и длиннее. На начальном этапе было решено установить 6.2-литровый мотор V8 LS9, выдающий 735 лошадей. После того, как над автомобилем «поколдовали» тюнеры, мощность возросла до 1200 л.с.

После увеличения объема до 7 литров, удалось на выходе получить желаемую мощность в 1244 л.с. Максимальный крутящий момент составил 1566 Нм. Для того, чтобы такой силовой агрегат не изувечил задние грандиозные 345/30 ZR20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport, решено было оснастить суперкар трекшн-контролем. Естественно, это не смогло не сказаться на разгоне до 100 км/ч. Для передачи тяги на заднюю ось используют шестиступенчатую механику Ricardo.

Конструкция самого гиперкара полностью выполнена из углеволокна. Всю картину подчеркивают карбоновые элементы аэродинамического обвеса. Для идеального прижимного усилия во время «полета» суперкара были установлены специальные датчики, которые могут изменять положение элементов при движении.

В салоне автомобиля вы не найдете ничего лишнего, все сугубо в спартанском стиле. Такая эргономика позволила суперкару оставаться невероятно легким. Кресло водителя и пассажира обшито алькантарой и кожей Nappa.

Speed records Edit

On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0–300 kilometres per hour (0–186 mph) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0–200 mph (0–322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R’s time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world.

On April 3, 2013, the Hennessy Venom GT crested 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run and had VBOX officials on hand to certify the numbers.

On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center’s 3.22-mile (5.18 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Hennessey team recorded a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) with Director of Miller Motorsport Park, Brian Smith, driving. As the run was in a single direction, and only 16 cars have been sold to date (to qualify Hennessey must build 30), it does not qualify as the world’s fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records.

Description

The Hennessey Venom GT’s chassis is a heavily modified version of the Lotus Exige’s chassis. Hennessey claims that the chassis uses components from the Exige, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper, and headlights. Hennessey and the Venom GT are not affiliated with Lotus Cars.

The Venom GT uses carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels, along with Brembo six-piston brake calipers in the front and four-piston brake calipers in the rear.

The Venom GT uses a twin-turbocharged 7.0L (7,011 cc) GM LSX engine that is sometimes incorrectly thought to be a variation of the GM LS7 engine with which it shares some similarities. The engine produces 1244 hp (928 kW) at 6,600 rpm and 1155 ft·lb (1566 N·m) at 4,400 rpm. The mid-mounted V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the same one used in the Ford GT.

On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R’s time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world.

On April 3, 2013, the Venom GT hit 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at the United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run, with VBOX officials on hand to verify the numbers.

On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center’s 3.2 mi (5.2 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Venom GT was recorded as doing a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but in only a single direction. As the run was done in only one direction and only 16 Venom GTs have been sold to date, it does not officially qualify as the world’s fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records.

While the Venom GT is claimed to have a top speed of 277 mph (446 km/h), in real life, it was tested to hit only 270 mph (435 km/h), as mentioned earlier.

Venom F5 Edit

Hennessey announced that it has been working on a successor to the GT named Venom F5, thus far the company has not specified anything in detail with regard to the car, other than a planned power output of over 1400 hp and a top speed of over 290 mph (470 km/h). They plan to achieve that by reworking the engine using larger twin turbochargers and larger intercoolers for improved charging pressures and cooling. The 7.0-liter V8 would use a new fuel system as well. The F5 will have a completely new exterior with its carbon fiber body improved for lower aerodynamic drag as well as more downforce. The name F5 is derived from a top speed tornado. First delivery to customers is planned for 2016, with a total production of 30 models at a price of more than $1.2 million each.
